I absolutely love this dining set
I am so pleased with this set. The color is rich and the finish is so smooth. The chairs are so comfortable. The set is so contemporary and goes with our wood floors perfectly. My husband and I saw a similar set at the furniture store here and it was $500 more…..even with shipping. I highly recommend this set.

Looks nice but hard to clean
I love the look of this table. I really wanted a modern look and the cushions are nice. My only complaint is that the table is SO hard to clean! I don’t know if it is cheap wood or if it doesn’t have a protective covering. I clean spots up right away (which happen a lot since we have young kids) but it still leaves water spots, and the table gets scratched up. we might have to get a table cloth and cover up the nice wood color.

Perfect!
This table looks amazing! It is very sturdy, does not look or feel cheap whatsoever. It is real wood, not particle board or anything else cheap. Assembly was quick and easy, had all the pieces put together and in dining room in about an hour (including the picture taking!). The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it doesn’t quite seem big enough to be a six person table. The chairs don’t all fit under at once. I think six people would be a little crowded. I think it is perfect as a four person table or a nice little two person table (with leaf out). Overall I am very very happy with this purchase!

cute little shirts
I bought these for a friend who just had a baby. They are super cute, although I didn’t get to actually see them on the baby. The only issue I have with shirts like these is that I don’t like to pull clothing over a newborn’s head. Other than that; very cute!

Axiom Astounds !
In my pursuit of audiophile quality nirvana, after going through many name brand speakers over the years, the Axioms have hit the mark ! Here are the reasons, and not just technical ones.

First,let me say that Axiom is an audiophile speaker manufacturing company based in Canada that has been in the business for a little over 20 years(they are definitely not a generic no-name brand to Canadians and those of us in America who are able to obtain these wonderful speakers).Their well designed and thought out website is rich in product visuals, technical and ordering information. While you will NOT see or be able to hear any Axiom speakers at your local home electronic big box retailers here in the U.S. the only thing you can do is look for reviews on the internet;reviews from top audio critics and purchasers praising the high end quality of these babies! Axiom’s customer service offers a wonderful 30 day try-it-and -return-it-if-you-don’t-like-it policy (of course sans shipping cost). Their customer service is excellent and extremely knowledgeable in any questions or concerns you may have from purchasing to technical inquiries(you’re not communicating with sales reps just out to make a fast buck or commission—you are treated like a person)! Their sales and service dept. staff keep you immediately informed of when your order has shipped out as well as online tracking information. If you have any problems or concerns they can also be reached via toll free number.You also receive a friendly e-mail acknowledgement that receipt of your order shipment/arrival is completed.

The next remarkable aspect of the Axiom family of speakers are the audiophile budget minded prices. The old cliche “bang for the buck” is tried and true with Axiom.There are no hidden additional handling costs or inflated prices to give that “air” of elite snootiness (“Hey, if I spend thousands of dollars on these speakers, I must be getting what I paid for and that makes me special…”).Their prices all across the board, from their entry level speakers to their tower speaker line, are very reasonable if not surprisingly inexpensive!

Now, how do the M3ti Axioms perform? Without getting too technical, they are musical sounding when they should be and can also reproduce dvd surround sound effects with astounding accuracy, realism and ease.I have used both analog and digital sources and have found the clarity and detail to be very satisfactory and even surprising at times. What’s amazing is the size of the cabinet enclosures.As Yoda would probably say,”Size matters not !”—and he’s right.However, laws of physics and sound dictate that in order to really get the most out of the listening experience is to mate these with a subwoofer. On their own, they still reveal remarkable highs and mids and an acceptable level of bass.With or without a sub, the real test is to just close your eyes and LISTEN ! The stereo imaging is impeccable.The mids and highs are smooth, but not too neutral or warm, or dull sounding.The titanium tweeters offer a silky rich characteristic but nothing to give you ear fatigue. The midrange is a bit punchy(but by no means artificial or overemphasized) and well pronounced (at times I felt like I was listening to a 3-way speaker system)! When placed on a pair of speaker stands, the music floats in the air and never is there any hint that the sound is coming from a pair of small boxes; due to the special wedge-shaped design this practically eliminates that “boxy” cabinet resonating sound found in cheaper made speakers.The sub I am currently using is a Velodyne CHT8. All three speaker units integrate seamlessly. I often forget I’m listening to a couple of shelf speakers and a sub. The sound quality is more like a couple of mid sized floor units!There is no sonic strain that I could detect when playing them loud. One must also keep in mind that loud is not necessarily a trait of audiophile quality; they must also be able to reproduce the most subtle and minute nuances as well with great clarity and detail. The M3ti’s accomplish this very well indeed.I can leave the room and walk into the kitchen or another adjacent room and the clarity can be heard versus a muffled sound from other lesser speakers. There is no colored or saturated sound as many other speaker companies try to introduce into their bookshelves to make them sing like tower speakers—those often end up having a very “phony” sonic quality. With the Axiom M3ti’s,classical guitar strings have that natural and crisp “plucking” and airy characteristic along with the proper acoustical characteristics that emanate from such an instrument (same for a harp). Bongos and congas present themselves with such vividness (you can almost see the peformer tapping or pounding on them and hear their finger tips and palms striking the skins). Female vocals are very natural and soothing(I could hear words pronounced so crytal clear , even ending consonants on words that with my old speakers used to roll off or just cut off and disappear). I’m hearing details I never heard before.Period. Male vocals may have a little thinness to them but not enough to make a major difference or to detract from the overall grand musical presentaion.

The looks (from four wood veneer colors to choose from to special color customization), the sound quality all speak in volumes (no pun intended) of the technological thought, design, detail, and craftsmanship that has gone into the Axioms.I personally chose the Mansfield Beech with black grills; I love the black and light wood contrast;it blends in very well with my surrounding rustic furniture.I really deliberated for awhile between the Beech veneer and the Boston Cherry (the BC has a very elegant and expensive look, but nothing I have furniture or decor-wise would match).There is a much lighter wood color, I believe maple, but it reminded me of a piece of furniture that still needs to be stained and worked on—it just looked “unfinished” to me.Anybody who appreciates high end sound but says they don’t care what the speakers look like is lying; Once you look at the complete Axiom line, they have a very classy and appealing look that should suit and satisfy anyone’s home furnishings and decor. There’s an overall contemporary elegance to their cabinet designs.Again, The prices are affordable. This is an awesome message that conveys to people desiring a step up into the world of audiophile quality speakers that you don’t have to break the piggy bank or dip into the kids’ college fund. Shipping is via Fed Ex to most states and is very fast—my speakers arrived from Canada to Arizona in 2-3 days tops ! These have definitely more than just wet my appetite; In time, I will also look forward to purchasing their tower speakers as well. I went out on a limb and solely ordered these based on glowing reviews from both sound critics and customer reviews praising the Axioms and am not at all disappointed.Buying the Axiom M3ti speakers is a win-win situation !

I can’t cook without it now!
This thing is amazing. I can’t believe it wasn’t developed sooner. Cookies slide right off, frozen food doesn’t stick, even cheese nachos can be made on this and slid right onto the serving plate. Yes, you read that correctly. I make nachos right on this and scoot them onto a plate when they come out of the oven.

A few hints:
1) DON’T OIL IT. If you add oil then it will become sticky. Sounds odd, but I had a friend over and she oiled it and it now is sticky. The sticky stuff finally came off with some major scrubbing, but don’t oil it.
2) I found that when using new silicone baking mats I like to “break them in” because they tend to outgas on first use. I bake them with nothing on them for about 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. I have never had problems with this, but you do it at your own risk.
3) Don’t be scared to put the mat directly onto your oven racks. I find that I get the best results this way. You can use it on a pan if you feel more comfortable that way.
4) Be aware of the maximum temperature for your mat.
5) Buy at least two so you can make batches of cookies with it.
6) Don’t forget that if you are cooking at 350 degrees, the mat will be 350 degrees, so DON’T grab it with your hands. I can sometimes pull aluminum foil liners directly out of the oven (my friends say I have “asbestos” hands) because of their low heat capacity, but I can’t do it with these.

My favorite use: Low fat chicken tenders (my own personal recipe).

Cut chicken breasts into strips about 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch by however long you want them.
Soak them (refrigerated) in low or nonfat milk for 1/2 hour with 1 clove of garlic, quartered for every two breasts. Make sure the milk covers the pieces.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Dredge the chicken pieces, leaving the garlic behind, in a mixture of bread crumbs, salt and pepper. If you want, use flavored bread crumbs. I also use a little chipotle powder or chile powder when I want them spicy.
Bake chicken on ungreased baking mat until done, usually about 20 minutes. About 5 minutes before they are done, flip them over, to dry the bottom side.
Do not move the chicken on the mat until just before they are done.
My wife loves these. They are not as crispy as fried ones, but they are much healthier.

You’ll Love It!
It really works, and works wonders.

USES:

* You can put anything on top of it for baking and nothing will stick. The first instinct is to bake cookies on them and you will be surprised how EVEN they will bake.

* I then tried frozen fish with dry rub condiments and it came out perfect. The skins don’t stick and everything just slides off the mat. No oil added whatsoever.

* I frequently make croissants and notice that the bottom won’t burn as fast as when done on a plain baking sheet.

* I also use the mat to handle sticky items like sugar for candy-making and dough. You won’t need any flour to spread on the counter as this does the job just fine. You will wonder how you were able to bake without it for the longest time.

CLEANING:

* The best part is the clean up. You soak it in water and simply wipe off the food particles on the mat.

* For a thorough cleaning, just use mild soap and soft sponge.

* Stick it from the freezer to the oven and back to the freezer and it is perfectly OK. Nothing will crack or burst from the changing temperature – unlike glass pans.

* It is very flexible. Bend it, roll it, spread it out and use it for your rolling pin for the top and bottom.

CAUTION:

* Of course this isn’t a magic device where food won’t burn. It will just brown evenly the longer you keep it in the oven. Heat will simply be distributed on the mat.

* The product is made of silicone and fiberglass.

- Silicone is great, but it also does not mean it’s indestructible. It can only be used within the temperatures from -40 degrees F to 482 degrees F.

- It has a lifespan of 2,000 to 3,000 times. As much as we want it to last, it will eventually wear out.

Fiberglass means that the product is finely weaved with glass. Therefore, it cannot be used as a cutting board. Yes, it’s flexible but the glass weaves should be contained within the silicone.

DO NOT cut it into pieces. Buy the appropriate size for your needs. Once the glass particles are exposed, you will have to DISCARD it immediately as it will pose a health risk. I don’t mean about breathing any harmful toxins, but those glass particles are sharp that if it goes into your food and on to your body…you get the picture.

That being said, enjoy the product and the wonder that it does. But use it with care. If used properly, it is worth every money spent.

One of the best things to happen to baking
I first discovered Silpats while I was in Culinary School and had a baking and pastry course. I was amazed at how well these things work. And after using them at school I had to buy some for my own home. You never have to worry about items sticking ever again. You can literally bake anything on these. I have used mine to bake cookies, biscuits, rolls, pastries, even frozen foods like pizza rolls and chicken nuggets cook up well on these. And you never have to use oils or cooking spray because nothing sticks. They are also easy to clean and store well. But I doubt you will ever need to store the Silpat because you will be using it all the time. So whether you are an occasional baker or bake all the time, a Silpat is an investment worth making.
